Free PRK/LASIK Screening
Refractive surgery is freeing millions of people from dependency on glasses and/or contact lenses. We are proud to be one of the first offices in Colorado to participate in these procedures. If you are interested in finding out if you are a candidate, ask us about scheduling a FREE screening today! We also conveniently manage all pre-operative and post-operative examinations right here in our offices.
The American Optometric Association recommends that a child receive their first eye exam between 6-12 months of age.
Both of our offices participate in the “InfantSEE” program which allows parents to bring their infants in for a FREE eye exam between 6-12 months of age. At this exam, we screen for vision problems that can lead to vision development issues such as large refractive errors and eye turns. We also check the overall health of the eyes. Orthokeratology Contact Lenses
Our doctors are fully trained and certified to fit these specialty orthokeratology contract lenses, also referred to as “corneal reshaping lenses.” These lenses are designed to gently reshape the cornea while you sleep. Upon awaking the next mornings, the lenses are then removed and patients are able to see clearly without the use of traditional contact lenses or glasses. Doing this on a nightly basis can free individuals from dependence of glasses and traditional daily wear contact lenses. This is also a highly effective treatment for rapid progressing nearsightedness in kids.
Both of our office are fully equipped with all the instrumentation needed to aid with the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal detachments, and amblyopia. In addition, our Littleton office also has the latest in electrodiagnostic equipment. We are able to perform both electroretinograms and visual evoked potential testing. This technically often allows for even earlier detection of conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration. It is also very useful in monitoring for progression of these conditions over time.
Custom Therapeutic Contact Lenses
For many individuals, traditional soft contact lenses are unable to adequately correct vision, or sometimes will not fit the shape of an eye. Those with very high levels of astigmatism or nearsightedness, keratoconus, very flat corneas from refractive surgery, or bulging corneas from LASIK complications are common causes for these problems. Our doctors are experienced in all alternative contact lens options, many of which are custom designs. These may include Synergeyes lenses, which are a hybrid of a soft lens with a hard center, scleral lenses, which are large diameter hard lenses, and rigid gas permeable lenses (RGP’s), which are smaller diameter hard lenses. We even fit custom soft lenses (KeraSoft IC, NovaKone) specifically for keratoconus as well. All of these lens options can be fully customized to fit almost any eye shape, and correct almost any prescription. These types of lenses can also sometimes provide individuals with vision far superior to what glasses would otherwise provide
Patients who value crisp, stable vision, long-term health, long-term comfort; or when thin designs are required; Current contact lens wearers not getting a full day of comfortable wear; Patients with heavy lipid or mucus in tear film.
